Care and Feeding
Do I need to do anything special to look after my new woodenware?
Because these products are made of a natural material they will be affected by their environment. Treat them nicely, keep them out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources.
How do I clean my treen/woodenware?
Clean with just a quick scrub, don’t soak and never use a dishwasher.
What is treen?
Treen refers to small articles or utensils made of wood. It’s another word for woodenware.
My treen seems to be drying out. What should I do?
If the finish needs to be freshened up simply rub on some food safe oil (mineral/flax/walnut) let it sit for twenty minutes (or longer) and then rub in any excess oil using a clean, dry cloth. As an alternative you can use some of my special wood finish. Repeat as often or as little as you like.
Can I use my treen everyday?
Woodenware is meant to be used. In fact, using your treen everyday will keep it in the best condition as it will help maintain a constant moisture level.
Will my treen always look like new?
Only if you never use it. Embrace the changes that will come with use. They aren’t stain-proof so enjoy the patina that develops. It’s what makes the piece truly yours as it tells the story of every meal you’ve shared with it.
